Rifleman Thomas Reynolds

Thomas was a pre-war member of the 6th Battallion, King’s (Liverpool Regiment), and so may have known Mortimer Pim. His home was on Station Road, Maghull. Early in the war he was wounded, sent home to recuperate, but was out again in 1918. He was again wounded, this time mortally, and died the next day. He is buried in Houchin cemetery, France. His widowed mother Elizabeth of Damfield Road, Maghull, paid for the inscription on his headstone – ‘Eternal rest give unto him, O Lord. May he rest in Peace. Amen.’
