Private John Ball

John Ball, a grocer’s assistant, was a volunteer with the 8th Battalion, King’s (Liverpool Regiment), The Liverpool Irish. He was killed on the same day as fellow Maghull man Mortimer Pim in an attack near the Somme village of Flers. He has no known grave. His name is one of more than 73,000 engraved upon the Thiepval Memorial, France.
